USAA Early Pay: When to Expect Your Military and VA Payments in March 2026

If you use USAA for your military or VA benefits, you may be able to access your money sooner than the official government payday.

USAA typically deposits funds up to two business days early, helping service members and veterans manage their budgets and pay bills on time.

Here is what you need to know about the payment schedule for March 2026.

Military Pay Dates for March 2026

Military pay is usually released on the 1st and 15th of each month, but these dates change if they fall on a weekend or a holiday.

  • Mid-Month Pay: The official payday is Friday, March 13. With USAA Early Pay, you could see your funds as early as Wednesday, March 11.
  • End-of-Month Pay: The official payday is Wednesday, April 1. With USAA Early Pay, you could see your funds as early as Monday, March 30.

VA Benefit Payments

The Department of Veterans Affairs generally issues disability and pension payments on the first business day of the following month.

For the end of March, the official VA payment date is April 1, 2026. However, USAA members will likely receive these funds on Monday, March 30, giving them a two-day head start on their monthly expenses.

VA benefits covered by this schedule include:

  1. Disability pay
  2. Survivor benefits (DIC)
  3. Veterans and Survivors pensions
  4. Aid & Attendance or Housebound benefits

What Time Will the Money Arrive?

If the payroll files are sent to USAA on time, deposits usually show up in your account between 5:00 AM and 9:00 AM ET (2:00 AM to 6:00 AM PT).

Why Could a Payment Be Delayed?

While early pay is a reliable feature, there are several reasons why a deposit might be late:

  • Government Delays: Issues like potential government shutdowns or debt-ceiling negotiations.
  • Technical Issues: Glitches in the banking system or at DFAS (Defense Finance and Accounting Service).
  • Account Issues: Incorrect routing or account numbers.

To ensure everything goes smoothly, USAA recommends setting up direct deposit through MyPay and turning on notifications in the USAA mobile app to get an alert the moment your money arrives.

Why Use USAA Early Pay?

Beyond getting your money early, USAA accounts offer several perks for the military community, such as no monthly maintenance fees, ATM fee rebates, and specialized tools to help families manage their finances efficiently.
